one woman's quest to live the life she's imagined all while daring you to do the same

The Resolution Rewind

via newyorksightseeing.wordpress

“The changes in our life must come from the impossibility to live otherwise than according to the demands of our conscience not from our mental resolution to try a new form of life.” – leo tolstoy

How delicious is that? — “the impossibility to live otherwise …” I just want to bite it off and chew on it all year long like a ball player and his sweaty tobacky.

Conscience; meaning: God given compass, intuition, universal energy, Divine guidance, (pick your flavor).

I read something yesterday that struck me. Not a new concept, by any means, but I thought it would be perfect for us here at TYOMD.

The resolution rewind.

Rather than creating our list of resolutions from a place in which we “don’t have” why not use the mind-effing powers of quantum physics and make our list from what we’ve already accomplished.

So instead of looking forward, since time is paradoxically relative … let’s look back.

Let’s draw out our map by looking backward on 2014 with the wisdom we will have already gained.

What are we grateful for having accomplished?

“We have what we seek, it is there all the time, and if we give it time, it will make itself known to us.” – thomas merton

What might we have the guts to say we’ve already rocked?

If we can see ourselves, I mean really SEE ourselves having already accomplished these goals; what does it look like? Taste like? Smell like? How do you feel? OWN IT! If we can embody all of that goodness before we take our first step into 2014 how powerful would that be?

It makes those dreams/goals/desires that much more non-negotiable. And isn’t that more of what we need? No excuses! No Bullshit!

Sure, it might not all turn out the way we’ve planned, but that part we’re not concerned with now. We need to solidify the WHAT not the HOW. Our [God given compass] is the HOW and we will tune into that all along the way.

For now, picture yourself 525,600 minutes from now, looking back. Write down your biggest accomplishments, what you’re most proud of, what are you most grateful for?

I leave you with this: Shoot for the moon!

Much Love,

kat

Happy New Year!!
