one woman's quest to live the life she's imagined all while daring you to do the same

Manifestation Manifesto

“I slept and I dreamed that life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and I saw that service is joy.” -(correction) Rabindranath Tagore

What is your word for 2014? You’ve had a few weeks to think about it now.

I had only recently been introduced to the concept. Not far off an intention, I guess, yet simpler somehow, direct. Either way, I’m into it.

My word, I’ve come to realize, is JOY. Hard to explain why, exactly. Makes me think of a story:

My best friend Dana has an adorable habit of humming when she eats something she likes, especially dessert. It’s a combination of texture, taste, and vibration from what she’s told me. It’s the cutest thing to witness, because when all three are aligned she lights up like a toddler in a toy store.

It’s sort of like that for me with joy. It’s not a word I use often, but I’ve noticed myself being more drawn to it lately. Smiling when I hear others say it. “Humming,” in delight, when I think about embracing and embodying it.

It encompasses more than just happiness. Merriamm Webster defines it as: the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires.

Yum!

I also love that people can bring you joy–not just things. That you can express and give joy right back.

Double-yum!

Not to mention, that it’s synonymous with other yummy words like bliss, blessedness, enthusiasm, enchantment, and triumph, to name a few.

As with anything, I’ve noticed the more I focus on JOY, the more I find it. I have never been more committed than these last few months, since the birth of TYOMD, to filter out the things that drain me, and flood the space with more fulfillment.

I’m on a joyful mission, seeking out joy and allowing joy to find me. My manifestation manifesto for The Year of Magical Dreaming;)

I leave you with this: In the next 48 hours, take note of a theme, or intention, or one-word anthem that seems to be coming up for you. Try the “hum” technique;) How does it feel in your body? Just pay attention. Give yourself the full 48 hours so you can really let it resonate–marinate on it for a minute. If you’ve already got your word, drop in your manifesto below. And don’t be shy. It’s all about putting it out there!

#Onward in JOY

Much Love,

kat

You had it right the first time. This quote is not of Rabindranath Tagore. Tagore has a similar one. Gibran and Tagor are from the same period. Not sure who wrote it first and who altered it. But I like Gibran’s version.

Lol. That’s ok. I think there are likely a lot of misquotes on the web. I have a bad habit of not doing my hw before I post one, so I appreciate the help keeping me on my toes;)
