No waves today. Flat, flat, flat. Yet still plenty to do with seven nieces and nephews under seven.
We jumped waves; we ran around screaming for no reason; we played pretend everything.
I didn’t think about emails, or worry about bills; I didn’t fuss over my to-do list, or wish I was any other place.
Hours rolled by without a care in the past, or a fear for the future.
Made me think of one of my fave Kung Fu Panda quotes:
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, which is why we call it the present.”
To be a kid!
I leave you with this: Borrow a kindergartner for an afternoon, if you don’t have one. They’re fucking great.
