What an amazing event last night with Mastin Kipp of @thedailylove. He has been a distant mentor of mine for a little over a year now.
I saw him speak at Hayhouse’s I Can Do It event in NYC about a year-and-a-half ago.
Wow, what a difference.
I spoke with Mastin before the event last night and he recalled how nervous he was presenting at I Can Do It in front of such a large group.
I remember when I first saw him thinking, “This is the Daily Love guy?”
I don’t know what I expected.
He had great energy, but was a little frumpy, honestly. His story was powerful, yet he definitely wasn’t polished.
I have watched him over the past year launch weekly vlogs that were awkward and scripted at first. And then come into his own with an authentic voice and demeanor that is much more natural and appealing.
He’s lost a ton of weight, taking his health more seriously, and practicing what he preaches. He looks and sounds more confident and is much more poised.
I say all this, because last night was awesome. I was overwhelmingly inspired to get out there and make a mess of myself if I have to. Because it only gets better from there.
My favorite take away of the night was: “If you don’t take action on the thing you’re afraid of, you’re life will become that which you feared most.”
It’s not the fearless life we seek, but the fear-full! If we’re not scared, we’re not doing it right;)
I’m looking forward to reading Mastin’s new book: Growing Into Grace
I leave you with this: Get a date on the calendar for that thing that scares you. Just do it. And when you realize you’re still standing, do it again. And again. And again.
