I’m both nervous and excited to take a holiday from the smart phone. Elisa gasped when I told her I wasn’t packing my computer this weekend.
I haven’t detoxed since my Vipassana meditation course, Fall 2009. And although I don’t feel “as attached” as I imagine others might be, I’m pretty darn whipped.
We are headed up to the Adirondacks where phones are spotty anyway, so I figured this is as good a weekend as any.
I’m going to read a real book and play in nature, finish writing my speech with pen and paper, and, of course, run–because that’s all I do these days;)
I will miss my audiobooks, for sure. Elisa will have to share all our kitten photos on her Instagram (yes, we’re bringing Mr. Boots;). And my daily scroll of The FB, I must do without.
I’ll be back Monday. In the meantime, I’ve set up two posts for the weekend … because, as they say, the show must go on!
I leave you with this: How often do you do the detox? I’m thinking about making it a ritual. Weekly? Monthly? What do you think?
