I wish Les Brown was a preacher. I’d go to his church every day. My man is speaking my language. Never disappoints.
Notice he throws in a glimpse of his story. He was a youth speaker, speaking to any group who would listen: middle and elementary schools even. Now he’s a mult-million dollar speaker, making upwards to $50k + per speech.
What he didn’t mention was that he was given up for adoption because his mother could not afford to take care of him. He was declared “educably mentally retarded” while in grade school and suffered severe self-esteem issues due to his diagnosis. It was his mother and a kind high school teacher who saw potential in him and pushed him to succeed.
It doesn’t matter where you came from or who put you on this planet, we all have the ability to pursue what so few of us have been brave enough to take on. -Flickering Thoughts
I leave you with this: Keep digging!
