“You are what your deepest desire is. As is your desire, so is your intent; as is your intent, so is your will; as is your will, so is your deed; as is your deed, so is your destiny.” – Upanishads
Intent is such a solid topic because it is the foundation of everything. Mallika Chopra spoke about her new book Living With Intent last night and it got me thinking.
To wake up each morning and set an intention is one of the most powerful things we can do for ourselves each day. I was just talking to a friend/client about this very subject this morning.
That way, no matter what appears in our inboxes, social media accounts, text messages, calls, or even face-to-face interactions, we have something to ground us, something to keep us rooted: our intention.
Sure, emotions will be triggered and thoughts will be processed and things may happen, but rather than riding the roller coaster of other peoples needs, wants and desires, we can eb and flow in the calmer tides of life, our intention as the current.
If each of us set a positive intention in the morning, boy, what a different world we’d live in, huh? But rather than sitting around waiting on the world to change, we can begin our own work– you know, the only person we can ever really change, anyway.
Mallika Chopra is all about intent; she’s got a whole website dedicated to people sharing theirs. Check it out here.
Let the intent be the seeds, the action be the soil and water, and the manifestation be the blossom.
No better time than now to get to planting.
I leave you with this: What’s one intention that you haven’t put into action?
