I’m obsessed with Jimmy Fallon. Well as obsessed as one who doesn’t own a TV can be about a late night show I never watch.
But I’m a devout Youtuber and Upworthier and this fine clip was delivered straight to my inbox from the friendly folks at Upworthy.
Yes! The man spread is real. I crack up every time I see the MTA’s pics on “How not to behave on the train.”
And even the adorable Helen Mirren fell victim to the spread. How dare he!!
But more importantly than that, I love her story about shame.
Helen admits to doing something she regrets. And although announcing it doesn’t change what she did, she’s cleared her conscious a bit by putting it out there into the ether for world to see that she’s human. She might as well have removed her makeup and shimmied out of her dress.
How powerful is it for us to see that we are human? That we all make mistakes.
Also, what a gift it is to bear witness to someone’s shame. To be empathetic, “Oh girl, you have no idea!”
This time of year of rebirth and renewal is a terrific time to air out the dirty laundry and allow the breeze to flow through.
I leave you with this: What’s something you need to get off your chest? Start small here, and go big with a friend or partner. Clearing the cobwebs creates space for more love and abundance!
